How to find custom screen printed shirts for cheap?
With the sky rocketing cotton prices, it has been very difficult for T-shirt manufacturers to keep shirt prices as low as they use to be hence making it very difficult for screen printers to sell it to their customers at prices like before Screen printing process also requires inks and chemicals which is also getting very expensive with the price of oil. Therefore, consumers have to be smarter then before so they can get some insight which will help them make better decisions to shop smarter and save money where possible.
Lets start by discussing the t-shirt quality. A basic 5.4 oz T-shirt is less expensive then a 6.1 oz T-shirt so if you intend to use these t-shirts as a free give away at the next trade show event you could easily save about $0.50 a shirt going with a cheaper quality. Also try to give your printer more time in exchange for a better price. Often these shirts come on sale and if you can give heads up to your printer they can notify you when these shirts go on sale helping you same some money.
Often customers will compare two different types of T-shirts without know the quality difference and give credit to certain brand unjustly. For example, if you had purchased a Hanes ring spun T-shirt before and now going with a cheaper shirt such as Gildan open end, you will never be happy with Gildan when compared the two. A ring spun shirt is much softer then an open end and therefore not the same price comparison. A ring spun T-shirt is usually $0.75 to$1.00 more and well worth the difference when uniforming your employees.
When price is an issue try redesigning your artwork using less colors, ask your screen printer for help and request him for digital samples, that should help you save money on production cost.
Negotiate prices if you have a large quantity order. Even though your supplier will offer you better prices for higher quantity, you can still request him to waive setup charges on quantity orders of 500 pieces or more.
Find a supplier that offers in house printing. This way you save money when no middle man is marking up the price. And also will help you get you orders on time
